Numbering Schemes

Multiple numbering schemes can be attached to different types of CAPA records. A default numbering scheme is provided with the application, however, you can create your own or modify the existing default scheme format. SmartSolve numbering scheme objects use .NET formats.

Important Information about Numbering Schemes

Numberings can have both a prefix and a suffix if needed.
Numbers can be padded using the following formula {0,1:D4} – last number (4) represents # of digits, such as CAPA – 0001.
It helps to start with the next number first, such as1 – CAPA, because all records are listed alphanumerically by record number and this provides quick querying.
SmartSolve records do not need date values because you can now search for records by dates; however, if needed this can be configured.
SmartSolve records do not need business unit identifiers because the system allows you to search and sort for records by business unit; however, if needed this can be configured.
Most customers number their records using a next number with a suffix identifying the type of record, such as CAPA.
A numbering scheme can show an actual example server date.

User Rights

The following rights must be assigned to a user for that user to manage or view numbering schemes:

Rights	Description
ATN_MANAGE	Allows the administrator to add a new object, modify an existing object, or delete an object.
ATN_VIEW	Allows the user to access and view objects.
